Category: Action Date:2023-09-20
RetroArch is an open-source project that uses the Libretro development interface. Libretro allows for the creation of cross-platform applications with rich features such as OpenGL and location support. RetroArch comes with its own collection of applications for entertainment purposes. However, the version available on the Google Play Store does not have the Core Downloader feature, limiting it to 50 cores. If more cores are needed, there is the option to download RetroArch Plus from the Play Store or get the APK from the RetroArch website for the full version. The Play Store version has automatic weekly updates, while the website APK allows for up to 127 cores. RetroArch offers various features such as eye-candy menus, the ability to scan files and add them to game collections, and multiplayer support through NetPlay.
PPSSPP - PSP emulator
Category: Action Date:2023-09-13
PPSSPP is an emulator that allows you to play PSP games on your Android device at high definition with added features. It can run many games, but the smoothness will depend on the power of your device. This download does not include any games, so you'll need to use your own real PSP games and convert them into .ISO or .CSO files. Alternatively, you can play free homebrew games available online. Just place them in the /PSP/GAME directory on your SD card or USB storage. This is the free version, but if you want to support future development, you can download PPSSPP Gold instead. Visit http://www.ppsspp.org for more information and consult the forums for game compatibility details.
Play!
Category: Simulation Date:2023-08-15
Play! is a PlayStation 2 emulator for Android devices that allows users to play games from the 128-bit era on their smartphones or tablets. It offers a range of popular games such as Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Final Fantasy X, and Pro Evolution Soccer 3. However, the emulator has limited compatibility, with some games not working at all, others only partially working, and some running slower than they should. The setup options are also limited, as users can only search for game files on their Android device. Despite its issues, Play! is the first PS2 emulator for Android and is likely to improve with future updates.
